About

I love to cook, write, take “food art” pictures, share recipes, and share food. Cooking for a crowd is second nature, as is supporting local farmers and food systems.

Those of us who can choose what we eat have the privilege of making choices that can profoundly affect our own and our family’s physical and emotional health, as well as influence our local, regional, national, and worldwide communities and economies.

With this in mind, my goal is to share what I know and continue to learn about eating well on any budget and with a low level of fuss. Well, sometimes it is fun and worth it to get fancy, but in general, Wendys Food Blog will focus on recipes that are simple, delicious, and good for your body and/or soul.  😉

The text below was written sometime before 2010. I am now in the process of redesigning this website to bring it to an at least somewhat professional level and, when Covid raised it’s evil head, videoing and posting cooking demos (of the cuff and not professional, but they are at least somewhat amusing!) on my  YouTube channel. Original About text when I still called my blog CulinaryQ:

Q as in “cue” as in “to prompt.” A recipe is only the beginning…

Lady with a knife 🙂

I love to cook, eat, and write. I started this blog in 2006 to get myself to write about cooking. Someday, I WILL write a cookbook! I am not a professionally trained chef, but I have had some experience in food service and have always had a knack for cooking for a crowd. I have explored many “alternative diets” from which I discovered a wealth of ingredients, seasonings, and cooking techniques. Oh, I also love to take “food art” pictures and have taken every photo on this blog unless it is otherwise noted.

Have fun reading – and forgive typos, etc. I’ll never post if I have to proofread! But, being an English major with technical writing experience, most of the recipes, if not all, at least present the directions clearly. 🙂
